Allvoices.com has tens of thousands of users, and millions of visitors monthly. We've worked with them to bring scalability and reliability to their Rails application.
We are a small team of developers who employ agile practices and technologies to produce high-quality products for our clients — fast. All of us have experience in either running our own businesses or working in upper management, which gives us the ability (unique among software developers) to understand the importance of a client's business requirements.
A lot of custom software ends up being expensive to modify later on. This can be a significant problem, especially in today's challenging economic climate where businesses have to be flexible. Agile techniques address this problem by enabling developers to write software that is easy to fix or extend later on. We use agile practices to craft our work to your specific business needs instead of constraining you with the arbitrary limitations of more rigid development models.
One thing that attracted us to Allvoices.com was the opportunity to focus on refactoring and optimizing code. When a website has millions of unique visitors, every milisecond counts. But even though we were initially brought on to help sort through some scaling issues, we ended up staying to develop new features and refine and optimize the existing codebase.
For the last few years, we've partnered with EdgiLabs to design and implement solutions for their high profile clients. Recently, we assisted in the transformation of House of Lavande's website from flash to HTML by rewriting a lot of the things that are generally thought of as being central to flash — animation and user experience — in Javascript.
